Waiting areas are scattered everywhere, may it be for transportation reasons or for personal needs reasons. Some of those common areas are bus shelters, bus stop or school bus shelters, taxi shelters, smoking shelters and others. These areas are built for the benefit mostly of the people, for their safety and for convenience.
Transportation areas or shelters are built so that people who take public transportation wouldn’t have hard time roaming around, looking and trying to stop buses that would just pass their way. There are many reasons why these transportation stations are built. First of all, the safety of the people is considered here because for example, a person has been trying to wait for a bus to stop or even come, he or she would just be forced to walk, we all know that walking alone on streets especially at nights could be very dangerous, and risky at this time.
Second, with these bus stop shelters and other kinds of shelters, people are given equal chances of getting a ride since it usually works on a “First come, first served” basis and for organization purposes, a line is formed to avoid misunderstandings of who’s first to get a ride. Last and most importantly, it is built for convenience. People wouldn’t have to walk and walk for an hour if they could get to the place they are going in a much shorter time like 15 minutes. They wouldn’t have to get tired of roaming around just to look for a ride that doesn’t even recognize them; they could just sit and relax at these shelters, and patiently wait for their turn because every person would be accommodated.
Just like any other places around, even in waiting areas, there are safety precautions. In places like this, most of the time it becomes crowded since people who take public transportation increases through time. So it is very important for one to be careful of his or her belongings, in times like this, when a lot of people are having a hard time living and surviving, some people are already being desperate and steal other’s things. Usually these kinds of people do such when people are crowded just like in waiting areas.
Also, in areas like this, it is encouraged that everyone should be patient in waiting. Crowded areas may not be that easy to calm down since sometimes it gets too noisy and hot, still it would be best if we maintain order to avoid fights and misunderstandings within the place. There’s really nothing to worry about since everyone would get a ride, the only difference is who gets first and who gets last but it depends on what time one arrived to the waiting area.
Of course, the first who arrived would be accommodated first that is why there is nothing really to argue about. In places like waiting areas, it is very important to keep everything in order since it is a public place which involves a lot of people.
